The Vision Intevention Program (V. I. P.) checks children for this issue and provides help with the tutoring offered at school. While doctors have special tools and techniques they can used to help children, as you can see in the video, many families cannot afford to take their child to one of these specialist which makes the support they receieve from the V. I. P. vital.

Hello Michael...
I am thrilled to have found your site. I also have a blog about children's vision research and special populations. I would be even more thrilled if you promoted comprehensive eye examinations as opposed to vision screenings. Screenings miss too many children with eye problems. Good luck in all your activities.

Thank you for the comment Dr. Dominick. I agree, comprehensive examinations are very important but difficult for many parents to access. Our screening is fairly comprehensive and was developed by a team of COVD optometrist. We definitely recommend complete screenings for the children with severe problems.
I would love to discuss helping us with research of our efforts and I believe Dr. David Pierce called you recently. He is our optometric director.
Thanks again,
Michael
